MANILA -- "Ikaw si Pokwang sa Wowowee."

This is now how Pokwang's mother, 75, identified the comedienne, as Alzheimer's disease continues to take a devastating toll on her memory.

In an interview with "Tonight With Boy Abunda," Pokwang shared how their family handles their mother's illness.

"Sabi ko nalang sa kapatid ko na iparamdam nalang natin sa kanya kung gaano natin siya kamahal, kung gaano tayo ka-thankful sa kanya na kahit dose tayo, naitaguyod niya tayo," she said.

According to Pokwang, her mother no longer recognizes her. She only knows her as a host in the now defunct game show "Wowowee."

Despite this, Pokwang said her family continues to believe that a miracle can happen, and their mother will regain her health.

She added: "Sana huwag muna siyang kunin sa amin kasi kahit mawala 'yong memorya niya, alam kong 'yong pagmamahal niya hindi naman nawawala."
