MANILA - The Battle Rounds performance of young artists Joshua Oliveros, Maegan Frondosa, and Natalie Martinez of the romantic ballad "Ngayon At Kailanman" brought "The Voice Kids" coach Sharon Cuneta to tears.

"After Basil, I recorded it and I did a movie with the same title so it has a special place in my heart," explained Cuneta, who also praised the trio for their pitch perfect cover of the Basil Valdez hit.

Oliveros, Frondosa, and Martinez were part of the team of Cuneta's rival coach, Lea Salonga. The Broadway star picked Oliveros to move on to the Sing-Offs.

"May tendency ka na mag-sintonado ng kaunti pero iyong puso mo ay buong-buo, mula umpisa hanggang sa dulo," Salonga told Oliveros, who hails from Antique.

Oliveros is joined by three other young artists in the Sing-Offs, namely Noel Comia Jr., Yessha Dela Calzada, and Angel Peñaflor.

Peñaflor secured a place in the next round on Saturday after winning her Battle Round against Maria Kris Robles and Nirro Bautista. The group sang Jay-Z and Alicia Keys' "Empire State of Mind."

"The Voice Kids," hosted by Luis Manzano, Robi Domingo, and Kim Chiu, airs Saturdays after "Home Sweetie Home" and on Sundays after "Goin' Bulilit."
