Like many struggling actors, 2017 Gawad Urian Best Supporting Actor winner Christian Bables knew he needed to hone his skills to find his place in the competitive industry of showbiz.
That's why he enrolled in as many acting workshops as possible — some for free, while others required a fee.
Despite the lack of support from his family, Bables did his best to raise the necessary money, including selling slimming products.
According to Bables, he also took public transportation, which enabled him to save money. At one point, he said someone even offered him an indecent proposal, which he instantly declined.

But, according to Bables, he had a feeling that all his sacrifices will one day pay off. And they did.
