MANILA – PNP Director General Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa was supposed to guest on “Gandang Gabi Vice” last week but had to cancel because of an emergency meeting called by President Rodrigo Duterte.

Instead of making an appearance on Vice Ganda’s weekend show, Dela Rosa just visited the “It’s Showtime” studio on Thursday to join its “Trabahula” segment.

Dela Rosa also graciously granted a quick interview about his personal life with hosts Vice Ganda, Anne Curtis and Vhong Navarro.

According to Dela Rosa, he would have been a boxer had he not become a graduate of the Philippine Military Academy.

Asked who is his favorite boxer, Dela Rosa immediately replied: “Si Flash Elorde.”

Dela Rosa also shared the three things he’s most afraid about despite being the top officer of the Philippine police force. On top of his list is his wife, Nancy.

“Mabuti kay President Duterte, kapag nagkamali ako makakapagpaliwanag ako sa kanya. Sa misis ko, case closed kaagad yan,” he said.

Dela Rosa likewise shared the reason why he was nicknamed “Bato.”

“Kasi nung pagka-graduate ko sa PMA, pagdating ko sa Davao, 'yung katawan ko batong bato, solid na solid kasi galing kami sa training sa Scout Ranger. Sabi ng mga senior officers, bato. Nung nalaman nila na ako ay pinanganak sa Barangay Bato, Sta. Cruz, Davao Del Sur, 'yun na, na-carry over na,” he said.

Dela Rosa also gamely engaged with Vice Ganda, who made him laugh with his jokes.
