It has been a while since she bust out her acting chops.

And Pia Wurtzbach wants to make sure she's up to snuff before she begins filming for "The Revengers," the superhero flick from Star Cinema included in this year's Metro Manila Film Festival.

In an interview with reporters on Monday, the Miss Universe 2015 winner shared that she has been taking refresher courses on acting.

"This is something I requested from ABS-CBN," she said, before adding that preparations have been put in place to ensure her safety while shooting the superhero film.

Directed by Joyce Bernal, "The Revengers" also stars Vice Ganda and Daniel Padilla. It is a co-production between Star Cinema and Viva Films.

It is Wurtzbach's first acting stint since 2012.

Filming has begun for the movie, with Star Cinema uploading photos of Padilla and Vice Ganda on-set.

It will be released on Christmas Day as part of the annual MMFF.
