MANILA, Philippines - "The Bourne Legacy," a Hollywood action film starring Jeremy Renner and Rachel Weisz, will have its Asian premiere in the Philippines on August 5.
Metro Manila Development Authority chairman Francis Tolentino said the Philippines will be the first country in Asia to screen the much-awaited action film. Earlier reports said the movie will be shown in the US on August 10.

The film, the fourth in the 'Bourne' franchise, stars Renner, Weisz and Edward Norton. Parts of the movie were shot in Metro Manila and Palawan from January to February this year.
A trailer of the movie earlier showed scenes shot in the Philippines.

The film also shows agent Aaaron Cross (Renner) in hand-to-hand combat with Filipino police and security guards.
