MANILA - Comedian Vice Ganda will join the cast of "Ang Probinsyano" in a series of upcoming episodes focusing on sextortion, lead star Coco Martin has confirmed.

"Ang ipapangako namin dito ay ibang-ibang Vice ang makikita nila," teased Martin. "Kasi marami nang nagawang pelikula si Vice, kilalang kilala na siya ng tao. Ang challenge namin is paano namin siya babaguhin.

Martin said he personally wanted the "It's Showtime" host to appear on the series. "Sabi ko sa kanya, 'Kapag hindi ka nag guest ay magtatampo ako sa iyo," he told reporters at a thanksgiving party held for the continued success of his show.

Vice Ganda, known to be a close friend of the actor, previously made a guest appearance in Martin's 2013 primetime offering, the fantasy-series "Juan dela Cruz." He played a tikbalang, a horse demon from Philippine folklore.

The two recently worked on the hit 2015 Metro Manila Film Festival entry, "Beauty and the Bestie." The comedy grossed more than P520 million during its theatrical run.

It was also revealed that comedians Ethel Booba and Chokoleit will be making guest appearances in "Ang Probinsyano."

An exact date for the planned episodes were not given.
