MANILA -- The first episode "Pinoy Big Brother (PBB)" Season 7 started with a blast, topping Philippine trending topics on Twitter, Monday night.

The new season of the hit reality show ignited the excitement of netizens, who complimented the look of the new "PBB" house.

For the first time in its history, "PBB" is taking a big step by bringing the show to a foreign land. The seven celebrity housemates traveled all the way from the Philippines to Vietnam, without any idea of the challenges that await them.

This new house comes with new set of rules, which includes removing their shoes when they enter the door -- a Vietnamese tradition that signifies respect and humility.

On their first day in the new house, the housemates were treated to a lunch of Vietnamese dishes, which they had to eat using chopsticks.

But apart from the new house, the housemates also have to deal with Vietnamese guests who pretended they could not speak English.

These guests were tasked to pretend they are the original inhabitants of the "PBB" house, and act like the new housemates are intruding.

These unfamiliar faces are set to bring more thrill and challenge to the housemates, who are still trying to accustom themselves with the new atmosphere.

Another noticeable change in this new season is the other Big Brother, "Dai ca" -- a Vietnamese word which literally translates as leader or boss.

Dai ca, who speaks pure Vietnamese, also gives housemates orders, which are incomprehensible since they barely understand the language. He helps Big Brother in keeping order inside the house.

All these are part of Big Brother's attempt to bring new experience not just to the housemates, but also for the viewers of the show.

"Nandito tayo sa Vietnam para magkaroon ng bagong karanasan, hindi lang para sa mga housemates, kundi na rin para sa ating mga tagapanood," he said.

Hosted by Robi Domingo, Mariel Rodriguez, Bianca Gonzalez, and Toni Gonzaga, "PBB" Season 7 airs weeknights after "Born For You."
