MANILA – Loud cheers filled the KIA Theater on Saturday night when Xian Lim stole a kiss from his long-time leading lady and rumored girlfriend, Kim Chiu, on stage.

The two had just finished a production number when the audience asked them to kiss. A gracious Chiu then agreed to kiss Lim on the cheek. However, she was caught off guard when Lim suddenly faced her and kissed her on the lips.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News after the concert, Lim stressed that the kiss was not rehearsed and it was obvious on Chiu’s reaction.

“Usually kasi sabi niya ayaw daw niya mag-kiss. Usually kasi 'yung bilang namin [sa cheek lang]. Nakanakaw ng isa [sa lips],” he said with a huge smile on his face.

Chiu, for her part, said: “Nagulat ako. Wala na akong nagawa.”

Chiu said the kiss on the lips is already her gift to Lim after a very successful concert despite the bad weather.

“Grabe, lahat ng kaya niyang gawin na akala ng tao hindi niya kayang gawin, pinakita niya tonight. From pop, rock, classical, lyrical, hiphop to novelty – all in one na siya,” she said.

According to Chiu, she is happy that Lim was given a venue to showcase his many talents because he can do a lot more than what people think.

“A lot of people doubt na hindi naman niya kaya," she said.

"Kaya niya naman basta pag-aralan niya lang. Gustong gusto niya ito. Hindi siya napapagod.”
