MANILA - With a career spanning more than four decades and with 200 movie titles under his belt, Dick Israel is without a doubt one of the most recognizable actors in Philippine cinema.

But movie fans didn't expect to see an embattled Israel, whose photo made the rounds online last week after a netizen claimed that the veteran actor was victimized by fire.

On Sunday, "Rated K" paid a visit to the veteran character actor to check on his condition after the fire.

This time, a more optimistic Israel sat down with Korina Sanchez days after the blaze that gutted down almost everything he has worked for in his career.

Israel shared that the he was able to provide his family. "Pinagawan ko ng bahay ang wife ko at ang mga anak ko. I'm what they call a good provider," Israel told Sanchez.

Asked if he had any regrets in his life, the character actor said, "Wala naman."

"Sumaya naman sila," he added.

The wheel-chair bound Israel is now being taken care of by his first family, with his first wife looking after all his needs.

Israel shared that he was surprised about all the help he has been getting from friends.

"Marami pa palang tao na namgmamahal sa akin," a teary-eyed Israel said.
