MANILA – Jessy Mendiola broke down in tears when she finally saw her father again after 14 years of not being together.
In her Instagram account on Sunday, Mendiola posted a picture of her and her half-British father.
The 21-year-old actress said she could not help but cry when they hugged each other because unlike other fathers and children, they weren’t fortunate to spend time together for a very long time.
“I couldn't help but cry when I saw him again. No words can explain how much I missed my Papa. When he saw me he just hugged me so tight, I couldn't breathe. First words that came out of his mouth was ‘My Princess’ and that was it, I lost it,” she said.
Mendiola said she is grateful that they were given another chance to see each other again.
“I forgot where I was and cried like a child, thanking God he gave me another chance to see him again. June 29, 2014. One perfect Sunday,” she said.
Last Father’s Day, Mendiola posted a picture of them when she was still a baby, saying how excited she was to be reunited with him.
“Happy father's day Papa. I love you so much and I'll see you very very soon,” she said in the caption.
Last Christmas, Mendiola said one of her wishes at this point of her career is to be given more time to be with her family.
Back then, the actress was busy taping for the series “Maria Mercedes,” which she headlined along with Jake Cuenca and Nikki Gil.
