MANILA - A day after his highly publicized match against Baron Geisler, indie film actor Kiko Matos was asked how much money did he earn in the Universal Reality Combat Championship (URCC) fight.

In an interview on "Tonight With Boy Abunda," Matos ended speculations that he received a total of P100,000 for the two-round fight, which concluded in a unanimous draw.

Although he did not give exact figures, Matos said starters only get P10,000 to P15,000 per fight. Known fighters, on the other hand, get as much as P50,000 to P80,000.

The Matos-Geisler bout packed the Valkyrie Club in Bonifacio Global City, drawing casual fans who were curious to see what would happen inside the steel cage.

Meanwhile, Matos also answered theories that the fight was only for "social experiment."

"I wish it was," he quipped. "Somebody got hurt. May pumutok 'yong ano, nasapak din po ako, and if it was a social experiment, would it go to that extent?"

When asked about his purpose for pursuing the fight, Matos said he wanted to show people that there are bigger issues than his "duel" against Geisler.

"Ibinigay ko lang po kung ano 'yong gusto ng tao, kung ano 'yong hiningi nila," he added.
