MANILA - Jayme Jalandoni, the "Devoted Daughter of Las Piñas," and Michele Gumabao, the "Spunky Spiker of Quezon City," are out of the "Pinoy Big Brother" (PBB) house.
In the reality show's live eviction night on Sunday, Jalandoni and Gumabao became the seventh and eighth housemates, respectively, to be eliminated from the competition.
Before leaving the PBB house, Jalandoni, who got only 8.43% of the viewers' votes, told Big Brother the 3 lessons she learned before being evicted.
"Kuya, three lessons po ang natutunan ko sa loob ng bahay ninyo: Una, natutunan kong maging bold in my faith na even the world hates you, you have to stand firm with it; pangalawa, to own my decisions in life; at pangatlo, to strive to be an inspiration hindi dahil gusto mong magpasikat, kundi dahil the people need you," she said.
In a past episode, Jalandoni became emotional when she refused a controversial nude painting challenge, following the advice of her father.
The 23-year-old devout Christian said the challenge would go against her beliefs to disobey her parents, citing one of the Ten Commandments in the Christian faith -- "Honor your father and mother."
As she was welcomed by her dad outside the PBB house, the ex-housemate exclaimed, "Sobrang excited po, grabe! Kakain ako ng cheeseburger!"
Meanwhile, Gumabao, who only got 9.46% of the viewers' votes, also shared what she learned inside the PBB house.
"Nagbago ang tingin ko sa buhay, sa pagsubok, sa pakikitungo sa tao. Natutunan ko pong magsakripisyo. Di ko inisip na dito ko pala makilala si God nang lubusan. Natutunan kong magtiwala sa Kanya sa kahit anumang sitwasyon," said 21-year-old former star of the De La Salle University Lady Spikers.
Gumabao said she will miss all the housemates and bade them goodbye.
In return, Big Brother thanked Gumabao for being a big sister to the teen housemates who always needed her guidance and words of wisdom.
Housemates Jane Oneiza, Joshua Garcia, Loisa Andalio were saved from eviction this week.
