MANILA - Timothy Tan, the husband of actress Sunshine Dizon, admitted on Sunday that they have decided that it would be best to have their marriage annulled.
This, after Dizon posted photos identifying her husband's alleged mistress on her personal Instagram account.
Last Friday, the actress posted a photo of a message written on a card, tagging a certain Clarissa Sison.
"When I tell you I love you, I don't say it out of habit. I say it to remind you that you're one of the best things that ever happened," the card read.
Dizon also posted another photo of the woman, who apparently lived in the same building.
In her most recent post, Dizon posted a message, saying: "Someday you'll wish you were a better man."
In a statement sent to ABS-CBN's Mario Dumaual, Tan admitted that he and Dizon have been having marital problems.
"Since the start of the year, our marriage has underwent numerous challenges and as with any relationship, we have truly tried our best to resolve certain issues," he said.
"However, we have both concluded that an annulment is warranted," he added, promising that he will continue performing his obligations as the father to their children.
Tan, likewise, asked the public to give them privacy as they deal with their problems.
"I would also like to take this opportunity to sincerely apologize to the people & their families who were involved, directly or indirectly, as a result of our marital problems.I would also like to request for privacy as we both go through this challenging time in our lives," he said.
The couple, who has two children, got married in 2010.
