MANILA -- Actor John Lloyd Cruz on Monday attended the preliminary investigation for the cybercrime and child abuse complaints against his girlfriend Ellen Adarna.

Once again, Adarna failed to show up at the hearing at the Pasig City Prosecutor's Office in connection with the "paparazzi" incident in May where she publicly accused a minor on social media of taking photos of her at a restaurant without her permission.

ABS-CBN News reporter MJ Felipe shared on Twitter video clips of Cruz attending the investigation. The actor was accompanied by Adarna's legal counsel.

The hearing lasted less than 30 minutes and was rescheduled to June 25 as requested by respondent’s camp.

Last week, Adarna was a no-show during the first hearing of the charges filed by Myra Abo Santos, the mother of the 17-year-old girl whose photo was uploaded by Adarna in her Instagram Stories.

The case was filed after the actress did not respond to the family's request for a public apology over the accusation.

The hearing on June 4 came four days after Adarna's father, hotelier Alan Adarna, passed away due to cardiac arrest.

Adarna has been the subject of intrigues and speculation, in relation to her relationship with Cruz, with whom she is reportedly expecting a first child.
