MANILA -- With tension-filled and emotional weeks leading up to its finale, the second season of "Tawag ng Tanghalan" concluded Saturday with monster ratings, scoring more than thrice the viewership of its rival program.

ABS-CBN's "It's Showtime," which airs the singing competition as a flagship segment, garnered a national TV rating of 31% on June 2, according to data from Kantar Media -- 10 percentage points higher than the program's average rating of 20% for the month of May.
