ABS-CBN holds on to ratings lead; 'Probinsyano' still most watched show

MANILA - Eight ABS-CBN produced programs have made it to the list of top 10 most watched shows in the country for the month of May, based on data from Kantar Media.

Topping the list is the long-running action drama “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano,” which remained unbeatable with an impressive national TV rating of 40.7%.

The Coco Martin-starrer was followed by “Bagani” (32.4%), “Your Face Sounds Familiar Kids” (32.1%), “Maalaala Mo Kaya” (28.7%), “TV Patrol” (28.1%), “Wansapanataym” (24.4%), “Home Sweetie Home” (21.8%), and “Rated K” (20.3%).

With its successful programs, ABS-CBN continued to dominate nationwide ratings for the same month after earning an average audience share of 45% compared to GMA’s 32%.

The country’s biggest network likewise claimed in the lead in Metro Manila with an average audience share of 41% versus GMA’s 26%, and in Mega Manila with an average audience share of 36% against GMA’s 34%.

In Total Luzon, the Kapamilya network still drew more viewers with a 41% rating against GMA’s 35%, while in Total Visayas, ABS-CBN garnered 54% against GMA’s 25%.

As for Total Mindanao, ABS-CBN registered a 52% rating versus GMA’s 30%.

Data also showed that ABS-CBN led the primetime block (6 p.m. to 12 midnight), after it recorded an average audience share of 49%, 17 percentage points higher than GMA’s 32%.

The Kapamilya network also proved supreme in all time blocks, including the morning block (6 a.m. to 12 noon) where it gained 36% versus GMA’s 31%, in the noontime block (12 noon to 3 p.m.), where it scored 47% versus GMA’s 32%, and in the afternoon block (3 p.m. to 6 p.m.), where it got 45% versus GMA’s 37%.
