Dennis Padilla has been appointed board member of the Movie And Television Review And Classification Board (MTRCB).

The father of teen actress Julia Barretto and son of late veteran actor Dencio Padilla, Dennis is known as a comedic actor and TV host who has appeared in more than 70 movies and dozens of television shows throughout his decades-spanning career.

Dennis Padilla made the announcement on Friday on his Instagram account, posting a photo from his oath-taking ceremony and thanking President Rodrigo Duterte for the appointment.

Other appointees were actresses Gloria Sevilla and Teresita Villarama, and former Metro Manila Film Festival juror Carmen Musngi.

Padilla joins other celebrity board members Gladys Reyes, veteran actor Robert Arevalo, and singer Luke Mejares.

MTRCB regulates and classifies motion pictures, television programs, and publicity materials.
