Piolo Pascual is visible on television seven times a week.

He has “Since I Found You” which airs from Monday to Friday, “Home Sweetie Home” every Saturday, and “ASAP” every Sunday.

But if he would have a choice, Pascual said he wants “Since I Found You” to be the his last primetime series.

“Ang hirap talaga mag-soap. Sabi ko last ko na ito, tap out na. Binubuhos ko talaga lahat ng energy ko sa soap na ito so I can focus on other things. After this, maybe do a once a week series. Iyon nga, nabigyan ako ng sitcom na hindi ko naman sinasadya. Hindi ko naman hiningi iyon eh,” he told reporters on Thursday.

As for the Saturday ABS-CBN sitcom, Pascual feels grateful that he was asked to be part of it, describing the show as a “breather.”

“Last year when I started, sabi sa akin tatapusin lang daw. Until nabalitaan ko na the ratings were good so okay pa rin naman so sabi ko, yeah. Raket itong ‘Home Sweetie.’ I get to channel the comedic side of me. Dito sa ‘Home Sweetie,’ ako mismo iyon in a way. Mas nakaka-relax ako,” he told ABS-CBN News’ MJ Felipe in a separate interview.

Unlike when he first joined the show right after John Lloyd Cruz filed for an indefinite leave in showbiz, Pascual said he is no longer just a guest on “Home Sweetie Home.”

“May OBB na eh. May credits na, nandun na ako. Hindi na guest, regular na ako. Thankful ako because I’ve always wanted to do something like this, once a week, just a breather. I’m able to do something na I enjoy doing,” he said.

Nonetheless, he doesn’t see himself as a replacement to the role left by Cruz.

“I’m not replacing to say the least. I’m just an addition to the cast. Nag-change kami ng... not the format, pero nagkaroon kami ng additional cast, si kuya Ogie (Alcasid). Dinevelop pa iyong script. We have a new restaurant na kami-kami ang partners nina Toni (Gonzaga), kuya Ogie, Rufa Mae (Quinto), kuya Mitoy (Yonting). It’s become more like a family to me.”

“It’s become ‘Walang Kapares,’ more like friends with kuya Ogie, si Rufa Mae, and then kami ni Tin. It still has that Filipino sensitivity, iyong values natin as a family. Hindi natin iibahin iyon. I’m just happy na kinagat ng tao and at the same time, kasama ko si kuya Ogie so walang pressure masyado.”

Does he have an idea whether Cruz is still coming back to the sitcom?

“I have no idea. I don’t have any news about him personally. We don’t stay in touch anymore. I wish, I hope we get to talk soon. Lloydie will always be a friend. He’s a brother. We started at the same time in this business. He will always be family. Hindi na mawawala iyon. Hanggang katapusan na iyon, hindi magbabago iyon,” he said.

Pascual also shared that he sent Cruz a message when he was first offered to join the show.

“I messaged him. I guess he changed numbers, pero nagpasintabi tayo. Hindi natin puwede angkinin ang ‘Home Sweetie.’ Hindi natin show iyan. It’s for everyone. It’s a family show,” he said.
