MANILA – JK Labajo feels flattered that he actually gets some hate tweets because of his performance in the ABS-CBN primetime series “A Love to Last.”

On the show, Labajo plays the role of Lucas, the only son of Anton (Ian Veneracion) and Grace (Iza Calzado), who is against the relationship of his father with Andrea (Bea Alonzo).

In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Labajo said he finds validation as an actor when he gets bashed because of his character.

“The people on set, I ask them, is it okay na ganito or baka masira ako or whatever? Tapos sabi nila it’s actually great kasi effective daw 'yung acting ko. Sabi nila I should be proud kasi naaapektuhan ang mga tao,” he said.

Labajo, however, is aware that he is still beginning to learn the ropes of the craft.

“I am flattered kasi for me, I am not good enough so I really feel happy when people compliment me with all those really amazing stuff. Pero actually wala pa akong acting workshops so I am really planning on doing some acting workshop kasi I really feel I need it,” he said.

Unlike before, Labajo now wants to be known as “an actor who can sing” rather than the opposite.

“When I started ‘A Love to Last,’ it was the first time I legitimately felt like an actor, like a real actor. Kasi back then, I would just do some simple acting, mga cute lang, just for fun. But eventually, it made me explore acting more tapos mas naging wide 'yung range ko sa acting at mas naging wide 'yung knowledge ko about how this works. I fell in love with it,” he said.
