Mocha Uson: Nation more important than career

MANILA - "Bayan muna bago ang negosyo," Mocha Uson, the leader of the Mocha Girls, a pop group known for their sexy dance performances, spoke with certainty in an interview with ABS-CBN News' Mario Dumaual on Friday.

Uson, a fervent supporter of presumptive president Rodrigo Duterte --like the rest of the members of her group-- alluded to the famous line from the historical biopic "Heneral Luna" to answer whether she is in favor of the incoming president's proposed curfew on minors and liquor ban.

It was pointed out that if such laws will be implemented, the measures may hurt the industry they work in.

But without so much as a second thought, Uson and her group mates shrugged it off as a small sacrifice for the greater good.

Uson added that the youth are far more important than money. "Para hindi na mag-alala ang inyong mga magulang," she said.

Uson continued her string of confident answers when she was asked about her decision to support Duterte. In the months leading up to election day, the group dedicated their Facebook page to campaign for the Davao City mayor.

"Siyempre gusto natin lahat maramdaman bumaba iyong kriminalidad.

Uson also denied allegations that their group was paid to defend Duterte from the criticisms that plagued his campaign for presidency, as well as some playful rumors about her being given a Cabinet position.

The Mocha Girls have since more followers, but with the outpouring of support came the bashing.

Echoing the call of Duterte for unity, Uson, again with unwavering faith, believes that it is high time that Filipinos rally around a leader.
