A beaming and more optimistic Sarah Geronimo appeared at the Chicago leg of her 15th anniversary concert Friday as she explained the reason behind her Las Vegas meltdown earlier this week.

Geronimo, who is holding a concert tour in the United States, left fans shocked on Monday after she broke down in the middle of a song and walked out of the stage in the middle of a performance.

"Last time po naging emotional ako kasi nag-panic po ako. Walang tulog tapos parang nawawala yung boses ko," Geronimo told the crowd here.

(Lat time, I became emotional because I panicked. I did not get enough sleep and I was losing my voice.)

"And then naalala ko siyempre 'yung journey ko, 'yung humble beginnings namin, pinagdaanan, at saka siyempre lahat po tayo may battles [in] life," said the popstar, who burst into the music scene in her teens.

(And then I remembered my journey, my (family's) humble beginnings, what we went through, and of course all of us have battles in life.)

Geronimo, who rose to fame in 2003 after winning a singing contest, also admitted that she was "not prepared" for pressures that stardom brings.

"I've been dreaming of it ever since I was a little kid. Hindi lang po ako naging prepared for everything, 'yung lahat, 'yung fame, 'yung pressure: pressure to stay relevant," Geronimo said.

(I've been dreaming of it ever since I was a little kid. I was just not prepared for everything, the fame, the pressure: pressure to stay relevant.)

"Ano ba next na movie ko? Next na song ko? Ano ba ang next na pasabog? Ano ba ang susuotin ko? Ano bang make-up ko? Parang kailangan na lang laging pag-isipan ng mabuti ang lahat. Parang kailangan lagi kang maganda, lagi kang naka-make up," she said.

(What will my next movie be? What's my next song? What's my next surprise? What will I wear? How will my make-up be? It feels like everything needs to be thought through always. It feels like I always have to be beautiful, always made up.)

But unlike her tearful Vegas monologue, the singer - known for sold-out concerts, platinum records and box-office hits - opted to end with a more grateful and a more optimistic note.

"Pero wala pong iyakan ngayon, bawal. Nanu-news tayo e. Naba-bash tayo masyado. 'Wag nang ganun," Geronimo said in jest.

(But there won't be any crying tonight. It's not allowed. It's making the news. I'm getting bashed hard. Let's not be like that.)

"Akala nila nag-iinarte ako. Binigay na nga sakin ito, nag-iinarte pa ako? Aba mawawala din 'to so habang mayroon, go lang di ba? Ipon tayo," she said smiling.

(Some think that I'm just acting up. I was given this [opportunity] and I'm still acting up? This will all go away so while there are still [opportunities], I should just go for it, right? Let's save up [money].)

"I feel very, very, very blessed and I am truly blessed," she said.

Geronimo also thanked her fans for supporting her throughout her career.

"Thank you, thank you very much! Salamat! Kalma lang, kalma lang tayo!" Geronimo said giggling.

Geronimo, the third of 4 siblings, has been the breadwinner of their family.

In 2013, she revealed that she underwent a quarter-life crisis where she was uncertain if she still wanted to pursue a career in show business.

Geronimo's family, specifically her parents Delfin and Divine, have been visible figures throughout her career. She is known to be in a four-year relationship with actor Matteo Guidicelli.
