MANILA -- On their first day in the Philippines, Serena's (Liza Soberano) parents Luciana (Cherrie Gil) and Roberto (Ruben Maria Soriquez) decided to eat at Sarah's (Hanna Ledesma) restaurant.

Apart from a sumptuous feast of authentic Italian dishes, another pleasant surprise awaited them-- Tenten (Enrique Gil), who even prepared a short welcome speech.

At first, Serena was hesitant to introduce her childhood pen pal to her parents, especially to Luciana who despised the boy even when they were still young.

She has always seen Tenten as a threat to her daughter's promising future with Giancarlo (Matteo Guidicelli).

But while Luciana frowned upon Tenten's erroneous Italian, Roberto enjoyed the boy's wit and humor. Still, Tenten continued to hold his head up, until Luciana offered him a glass of red wine.

"They say that wine is an acquired taste. Maybe in the beginning you may not like it, but eventually you will. It's like love, once you like it, you will always look for it," she said.

Convinced that he would drink moderately, Tenten took his first sip of the wine.

"Chin Chin," they quipped as they raised their glasses.

His first sip of the pricey wine went well. In fact, he seemed to have liked the taste of the imported liquor.

Five, six, seven sips after, he found himself saying random facts about the solar system to Serena's father-- a well-educated and affluent man.

"I like your friend, he's very patawa and also very profound," Roberto noted.

Things were fine until Tenten succumbed to the spirit of the alcohol. He looked at Serena, and realized how really beautiful she is. He then faced Luciana and said:

"You know ma'am, you have a very very good daughter. She's perfect. You raised her well ha. That's why I love her, so much."

"I'm not drunk. I'm drunk in love," he added.
