MANILA -- Young actress Liza Soberano will be among those who will be graduating this month, and aside from being an actress, she hopes to become a lawyer someday.
In an interview on DZMM's "OMJ", Soberano said she plans to take up psychology in college and then go on to get a degree in law.
"I can actually study for free in the US because my grandfather was in the US Army. If I study there, gusto ko sana sa military, but it seems that I can't do that anymore. But I really want to study law."
If successful, she wants to specialize in criminal law. She added that she likes watching television series that deal with crime investigation.
Soberano is a part of her school's student council, and one of her projects as the public relations officer is the establishment of a book club in her school to encourage her peers to read more books.
"I feel more human when I read actual books. I also like the smell of books."
Aside from the book club, she and her friends built a mini-library in their school.
What she feels about haters
As a celebrity, it is normal to have haters. When asked about the worst comment she has ever heard, Soberano said she felt bad when a Twitter user told her to just kill herself.
"Noong una, nalungkot ako, pero ngayon hindi na."
Now, she just ignores bad and negative comments and instead focuses on those who appreciate her.
"Naramdaman ko naman na kahit sa Book 2 (ng Got to Believe) ako pumasok ay tinanggap naman nila ang character ko."
She also feels blessed that she has a lot of endorsements, and that she has been given several projects.
She understands that as a new actress, she has to go through different roles before getting a lead role, and she knows that this is a process she has to go through.
"Feeling ko din po kailangan din na mag-step by step kasi mahirap din po yung bida kaagad."
