MANILA – Kim Chiu had no qualms when she decided to watch the steamy movie “Sin Island,” starring her special someone Xian Lim.
In an interview on Tuesday, Chiu said she actually liked how Lim tackled his mature role.
“Pinanood namin. Intense, adult, mature. Siyempre as an actor, ang galing niya! Iba naman ang acting sa personal life,” she said.
Does she mind when Lim does films like “Sin Island”?
“Kung ano 'yung gusto niyang gawin, gawin niya. He’s an actor and lahat naman tayo gusto mag-grow kung nasaan tayo,” she said.
But when asked if she’s willing to do a similar movie with Lim in the future, she said: “Tignan natin. Depende naman po 'yan sa kuwento or kung sino magdi-direct. Nasa tamang edad na rin naman kami. Not super naman siguro na papunta na sa kakaibang type of movie. 'Yung may sense dapat. Pinagpapawisan ako sa topic na iyan.”
While Lim has already left Star Magic and is now under the management of Viva, Chiu said she doesn’t see any reason why they could no longer work together.
“We are open naman to work together pa rin naman kasi ABS pa rin naman siya. If there’s an offer, why not? Nandiyan pa rin naman ang mga supporters namin. Hindi naman siya [lumipat] ng bakod. Management lang naman,” she said.
Directed by Gino M. Santos, Star Cinema's “Sin Island” also stars Coleen Garcia and Nathalie Hart.
It follows the story of Kanika (Garcia), a flight attendant who is cheating on her husband, David (Lim), a photographer. When David finds out, he starts his own affair. A trailer showed Kanika trying to win back David's trust, before giving fans a glimpse of the heated confrontation she has with her husband's mistress, Tasha (Hart).
