MANILA - Just when you thought they couldn’t get any sweeter, Joshua Garcia did something for Julia Barretto that once again sent their fans abuzz.

Last February 25, ahead of Barretto’s 21st birthday, Garcia rented out an entire ice skating rink so the two of them could enjoy it on their own.

While the rink was closed to the public, many spectators took pictures of the two as they have fun skating.

Speaking to ABS-CBN News on Sunday, Garcia explained why he arranged that date for his rumored girlfriend.

“Kasi gustong gusto niya mag-skate. Bata pa lang siya gusto na niya mag-skate. Nanalo pa nga siya sa contest noon. Kumbaga sa pagkain, craving niya 'yun kaya binigay ko sa kanya,” he said.

Barretto, for her part, admitted she was touched by Garcia’s such sweet gesture.

“Of course I was so excited. Super takbo lang ako. Skate lang ako ng skate. Naturuan ko siya,” she said.

Although he doesn’t know how to skate, it’s more than enough for Garcia to see Barretto happy.

“Magaling ako kapag hawak ko yung polar bear. Pero kapag wala 'yun, wala,” Garcia said laughing.

After the success of their movie “Unexpectedly Yours,” the two are set to work on another romantic-comedy movie soon. They also have an upcoming series with ABS-CBN this year.
