MANILA - As the saying goes, try and try until you succeed. That's exactly what singer Jeremiah Velasco did as he once again auditioned for "Pilipinas Got Talent."

For his fifth try, the 33-year-old Velasco sang the Broadway classic "Phantom Of The Opera" from the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical.

It was far from a goose-bump-inducing performance, even drawing laughs for the sheer ridiculousness of his high notes. However, it had the judges entertained.

"Every time you join 'PGT,' nagle-level up ka eh," judge and former ABS-CBN executive Freddie Garcia told Velasco. "I want to see you again so I'm going to say yes to you."

The other judges --Vice Ganda, Robin Padilla, and Angel Locsin-- then followed suit, all giving him a shot at moving on to the next round of the competition.

Hosted by Billy Crawford and Luis Manzano, "Pilipinas Got Talent" airs Saturdays after "Home Sweetie Home" and Sundays after "Wansapanataym."
