MANILA – More than a year since her controversial split with Daniel Matsunaga, Erich Gonzales said she has already moved on but she is not yet ready to enter into a new relationship.

“I’m single but not available. Not ready pa,” she told ABS-CBN News’ Marie Lozano in an exclusive interview.

Gonzales said she would rather focus on all the good things happening in her life right now.

“Nag-close na 'yung chapter na 'yun. Wala, tapos na 'yun talaga. It’s been more than a year na. I just want to focus on the good things, the positive things. Never stop learning talaga. Every day I learn something new,” she said.

However, this is not to say that Gonzales does not know what she is looking for in a man the next time she falls in love.

“Super attracted ako sa lalaking malinis sa katawan, may hygiene, 'yung parang mabango. Mas doon tayo mag-focus sa inside niya. Kasi when you decide na siya na 'yung taong pakakasalan mo, lahat ng looks, body, lahat mawawala. Ang mag-stay talaga is 'yung character,” she said.

Gonzales also shared what turns her on.

“Intelligent people, kung nae-engage ka sa conversation. And someone talaga who can make you laugh. Siyempre sa trabaho natin, stressed ka and pagod. Sana 'yung kasama mo mapapasaya ka naman and mapapatawa ka. But more than anything, siguro 'yung connection talaga. Hindi mo siya kailangan ipilit,” she said.

But most importantly, Gonzales said: “In choosing 'yung next partner ko, kailangan talaga choose wisely. Kailangan gamitin ang utak.”

Meanwhile, Gonzales does not mind spending the Valentine’s Day without a date.

“It’s a taping day. For me, 'yung Valentine’s na iyan, hindi siya super big deal. Kasi if you love someone or if you want to show pagmamahal or make her feel special, it doesn’t have to be on February 14 naman,” she said.

Gonzales is the lead actress of the upcoming ABS-CBN series “Blood Sisters” where she will play Erika, Carrie and Agatha.
