MANILA – The 2015 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry “Beauty and the Bestie” has already earned P526 million in the box office.

This was announced by Star Cinema via its official Instagram account during the movie’s victory party on Monday, based on the information given to them by the MMFF committee.

The ABS-CBN film outfit said the figures exclude the movie’s earnings from international screenings as the numbers only reflect its performance in local cinemas nationwide.

According to lead star Vice Ganda, the movie will not be possible if not for the help of his friend and co-star Coco Martin, and the team-up of James Reid and Nadine Lustre as well as the rest of the movie’s cast and crew.

"Ito talaga ang project na kailangan na kailangan ko si Coco Martin at ang JaDine. Kaya naging perfect project ito. Kaya salamat sa inyo," Vice Ganda said.

The MMFF executive committee earlier announced that "Beauty and the Bestie" is the festival's top-grossing entry, beating Vic Sotto's "My Bebe Love."

On January 7, MMFF announced that the eight entries have collectively made P1.02 billion, surpassing last year's box office haul of P1.014 billion.
