MANILA - Coleen Garcia has admitted that she will not be returning to host "It's Showtime" anytime soon, as she will be prioritizing her acting career this year.
In an interview with ABS-CBN News' Gretchen Fullido, the 23-year-old Garcia explained that her focus for 2016 will be on her upcoming film with Piolo Pascual and Dawn Zulueta, as well as the ongoing drama "Pasion de Amor."
"Actually, I was barely ever there during the entire second half of 2015," said Garcia, who joined the noontime program three years back. "I don't think I'll be returning. Management talked to me and they want me to focus on acting."
Asked about her role in her newest Star Cinema film with director Gino M. Santos, Garcia revealed that she will be portraying a young socialite who has an "unlabeled" relationship with Pascual's character.
"Iyong characters namin ay within the lifestyle today. I'm a socialite, while Piolo is a DJ. He's really going to learn how to spin. Zulueta is a fashion designer so somehow our characters will cross paths," she added.
Garcia described the feature as a "coming-of-age" film, as well as her "lightest film yet" following her efforts for the independent feature "#Y" and the steamy drama "Ex with Benefits."
Meanwhile, Garcia was also quizzed if she plans to marry boyfriend, television-host and actor Billy Crawford, who has openly admitted that he will not hesitate to settle down with her.
"I know I'm ending up with Billy pero siguro huwag muna magpakasal this year. We talk about it naman eh. I know it's going to happen, just not yet," she said.
