MANILA - Actress Nadine Lustre revealed on Tuesday that her mother, Myraquel Paguia, was recently hospitalized.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News' MJ Felipe after she was unveiled as the latest endorser of shoe brand Parisian, Lustre admitted that the past two days have been stressful for her.

"There were bashers na ang daming sinasabi na I owe it to them na mag-update ako --na parang I don't care about my fans. So para sa akin, it was really stressful. My mom was in the hospital. She had an operation. So I kind off --napuno ako," she said.

Lustre was referring to a comment she made on one of her Instagram posts where she told off fans who criticized her for not uploading photos of her recent trip with onscreen partner James Reid.

In the comments section, Lustre wrote: "There's more to life than my Instagram account. My family, especially my mom needs me more than my Instagram. Family first people."

According to the "On the Wings of Love" star, her mother is currently recovering at home. She refused to go into detail about the surgery.
