MANILA - Kapamilya star Gerald Anderson is very excited to work with actress Arci Muñoz in a movie slated for a late-February release, he admitted in a story conference on Tuesday.

Anderson and Muñoz are the stars of the upcoming Star Cinema production, which will be helmed by acclaimed director Dan Villegas ("Walang Forever," "English Only Please").

"I'm very excited dahil sa partner ko, dahil sa project kasi it is a new story na hindi tina-tackle ng Star Cinema madalas," shared Anderson. "It's very relatable sa lahat lalo na sa generation ngayon. Iba na talaga ang meaning ng relationship ngayon -- iyon po ang ipapakita namin sa mga tao sa story at sa characters namin."

According to Villegas, the film will be about two people struggling to find ways on how to move on from ugly breakups. It will also tackle the popular trend of having relationships without labels.

"Iyong character ni Arci at ni Gerald, parehas sila galing sa hindi maayos na relationship. Eh hindi ba 'pag galing ka sa mga ganoon klase ng relationship, kailangan mong i-rebulld 'yung confidence mo, kailangan mo maibalik 'yung self-esteem mo," he said.

Meanwhile, Muñoz, one of the stars of the hit afternoon drama "Pasion de Amor," also expressed her excitement on her movie debut.

The 27-year-old Muñoz compared her role as a "laid back make-up artist" to the character Zooey Deschanel played in the cult favorite "(500) Days of Summer."

"This is going to be my first movie and I'm really thankful sa opportunity that they gave me. And I'm just excited to work with Gerald. He's my dad's favorite so when he found out, he's really happy for me," she said.

In preparing for the film, Muñoz and Anderson also got "tattoos." Muñoz got an image of a cherry blossom as her character is "very romantic," while Anderson had arrows "inked" across his arms as it represents his character's search for direction in life.

The film, scheduled to be released on February 24, does not yet have a working title.
