Rejection is inevitable, especially in such an unforgiving industry such as showbiz.

And Toni Gonzaga remembers being stung as if it was yesterday, saying that she felt her self-esteem drain out of her the moment she walked inside the audition room.

On Friday's "Tonight With Boy Abunda," Gonzaga was asked about the one rejection she experienced that she will never forget.

She said it was during a casting call for a beauty product, and recalled being surrounded by gorgeous women as she waited her turn.

"Magaganda talaga sila," she emphasized, before implying that she failed to get the job.

She also talked about the time she bawled after not making the top three of a national TV singing contest.

It was especially hard to take as she really wanted to become a famous singer when she was young, and that there wasn't a lot of platforms then for her to realize her dream.

She reflected that those early rejections prepared her for the more painful ones that followed.

Gonzaga was on the late-night talk show to promote the newest season of "Pilipinas Got Talent," which she will co-host with Billy Crawford. It will debut on Saturday.
