ILOCOS SUR – A 16-year-old female senior high school student claimed to have been attacked by an assailant wearing a clown costume in Vigan City last Sunday.

The victim was on her way home after a volleyball game in their Plaza at Barangay Ayusan Norte when the 'clown,' holding a chainsaw, ran after her.

(I noticed while walking, someone behind a nearby fence were taking pictures and then when I saw a clown with a chainsaw, that's when I felt scared.)

After the victim fell on the street and screamed for help, the clown immediately went into a black car with two companions wearing a bonnet.

(I was so scared. I was more frightened when I saw the two guys in the car who were wearing bonnets. I also checked the plate number of the car but it was covered.)

According to the victim, the clown stands around 5’7 ft. to 5’8 ft. with a medium built and used the traditional clown costume with red paint on the face.

The barangay council and the police immediately responded but failed to trace the alleged car used by the clown.

(We are still investigating. This is the first reported incident and maybe they are just trying to scare people.)

Another clown sighting was also reported in the town of Bantay after the incident in Vigan City.

A number of suspicious "killer clown" sightings have been recorded in other countries, like the United States.
