MANILA – Mobile streaming service VIU enters the Philippine market on Tuesday, hoping to tap Filipinos’ penchant for Korean and Japanese entertainment, a company executive said.

VIU, which operates in Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia, hopes to grow its four-million strong active user base in the Philippines, where up to 70 percent of the streaming market consumes Korean content, said Janice Lee, managing director at VIU parent PCCI Media Group.
