MANILA, Philippines - Sy-led BDO Unibank Inc., the country's largest bank in terms of assets, targets to complete its new 47-storey headquarters within the first quarter of 2015.
The BDO Corporate Center Ortigas, construction of which started in the first half of this year, will complement the bank's expansion program.
"The building has been designed to international grade A standards. The planning is functional and efficient, and floor-plates allow flexible layouts for both single and multiple tenancies," said Peter Brannan, director for Asia-Pacific at Arquitectonica, the architectural firm in charge of the design of BDO Corporate Center.
The upcoming tower was also designed to achieve the Gold LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) rating for its construction and building systems, and the design of its curtain-wall, among others.
The bank said the tower is only part of BDO and SM Keppel Land, Inc.'s "grand development plan" for the 2-hectare property located at the corner of ADB Avenue and Julia Vargas Street.
BDO added the plan may also include the expansion of shopping mall The Podium, a second office tower and another building with hotel and service apartment components.
