MANILA - Megawide Construction Corp said Thursday it partnered with East-West Rail Transit Corp for a proposal to build a railway from Quezon City to Manila.

The 9.77-kilometer PNR East railway Project will connect Quezon Avenue to España Boulevard and is part of President Rodrigo Duterte's infrastructure program.

East-West Rail Transit Corp is a consortium that includes Mindanao developer A Brown.

“Megawide supports the Duterte administration in its push for reliable, sustainable transport infrastructure. A solution is needed for Metro Manila’s worsening traffic congestion and we believe efficient mass transportation is the answer," the company told the stock exchange.
