Expect Japeth Aguilar to assert himself further for Barangay Ginebra with the likely absence of Meralco's Raymond Almazan in Game 4 of the PBA Governors Cup finals.

Almazan, the most potent big man in the Bolts' squad after Allen Durham, hurt his knee in Game 3 and might have to sit out the next game.

"Napakalaki (ng epekto sa Meralco)," coach Topex Robinson said on "The Score." "The past 2 games, he's been scoring double figures and hindi lang 'yun 'yung impact din niya defensively."

"It's going to be a big factor for Meralco and coach Norman (Black) to fill the void that will be left in case he won't be able to play in Game 4."

For PBA player Carl Bryan Cruz, this meant an easier time for Aguilar who has been Almazan's assignment in the finals.

"Noong nawala si Raymond, nakita ko si Japeth very comfortable maglaro. Sila lang kasi ang pinakamalaki sa floor eh, walang makatapat sa kanya sa Meralco," said Cruz.

Aguilar scored 23 points aside from swatting 7 shots and grabbing 4 rebounds in Game 3, which Ginebra won, 92-84. -- The Score, ABS-CBN Sports+Action, Jan. 13, 2020
