#NoFilter: 'Duterte is a maverick president'

Political analysts Prospero De Vera, Jean Franco, and Julio Teehankee have shared their thoughts on incoming president Rodrigo Duterte.

For Teehankee, Duterte is a "maverick president' who essentially changed the election arena.

"In the same manner that he radically changed the electoral playbook with his unorthodox style, I think we are now seeing the emergence of a maverick president that is tailor-fitted really for reality TV and the social media," said Teehankee.

De Vera, meanwhile, remarked that people may have to adjust to Duterte's quirks.

"So the Cabinet members must start scouting around for housing in the Davao area now and the major networks must now look for places to put their reporters near the presumptive president’s Malacañang in the South for holding late night sessions," said De Vera.

Franco, however, believes that Duterte should change his nocturnal habits.

"While we admire the incoming president for being very transparent, holding daily press cons, I think his habits should change because the normal working hours are 8 to 5. It’s difficult if you’re asleep half of the day and you don’t know what’s going on with the nation," said Franco.
