Three weather systems are set to dampen large swathes of the country Tuesday, state weather bureau PAGASA said.

A low pressure area (LPA) was spotted 450 kilometers east of Surigao City at 3 a.m., PAGASA meteorologist Meno Mendoza told DZMM.

The tail end of a cold front meanwhile is affecting the eastern section of southern Luzon while the amihan or northeast monsoon prevails in northern and central Luzon.

Mendoza warned that rains from the LPA and cold front may trigger landslides and floods in Visayas, Mindanao, Mimaropa and Bicol regions, and the provinces of Quezon, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas and Rizal.

The amihan, he said, will bring light rains over Metro Manila, Cagayan Valley, Cordillera, Ilocos and Central Luzon regions.
