Senator Panfilo Lacson on Monday berated Ronnie Dayan, the former driver of Senator Leila de Lima, accusing him of displaying "selective memory" during a Senate inquiry on her alleged links to the illegal drug trade.

Dayan previously claimed that he received some P8 million from self-confessed drug lord Kerwin Espinosa on De Lima's behalf at Burham Park in Baguio City in 2014.

But Dayan said Monday that he does not remember the name of the Baguio hotel where he stayed in.

"Susmaryosep! Bakit napaka-selective ng memory mo, Ronnie? Alam mo yung selective memory? Parang naaalala mo lang ang gusto mong maalala at nakakalimutan o yung gusto mong makalimutan," he said.

(Why is your memory very selective, Ronnie? Do you know what selective memory is? You remember things that you choose to remember and forget the things you want to forget.)

He also reminded Dayan about the 1950's case of a Senate witness who was held in contempt for supposedly showing selective memory.
