Tisoy prompts power cuts as it batters Tagaytay City, other parts of Cavite

MANILA - Power supply was temporarily cut off in parts of Cavite, including tourist enclave Tagaytay City, as Typhoon Tisoy battered the province, Tuesday noon.

Branches fell off trees and electric posts swayed in Tagaytay City, Mendez, Alfonso, Indang, Maragondon and Amadeo as violent winds swept through the area.

Tisoy's eyewall - the most damaging part of the typhoon - will douse Cavite, Batangas and parts of Central Luzon Tuesday, as it barrels westward.

The typhoon is expected to exit the Philippine area of responsibility by Thursday.
