Typhoon Tisoy is expected to dump rains that would ease the water level at Angat Dam, which was still below normal on Monday, the National Water Resources Board.

Rains in recent days raised Angat Dam's level to 189 meters, but this was still 16 meters below the normal operating level, said NWRB Executive Director Sevillo David Jr.

(For now, this level is not that comfortable yet if we are talking about the security of our water supply for the whole year until the next.)

(Despite concerns about the effect of typhoon Tisoy, it mightt benefit our water supply.)

Angat Dam is the main water source of Metro Manila. Its declining level earlier prompted authorities to slash the region's water supply.

Tisoy, the country's 20th storm this year, will bring heavy rains over parts of Luzon as the Philippines hosts the Southeast Asian Games this week, the state weather bureau said.
