An intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) or band of clouds will bring rains over large swaths of the country on Sunday, the state weather bureau said.

Among the areas that will experience cloudy skies and scattered rains due to the ITCZ are Visayas and Northern Mindanao, Caraga and Zamboanga Peninsula, said PAGASA weather forecaster Aldczar Aurelio.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country can expect fair weather that may be marred by localized thunderstorms, he told DZMM Teleradyo.

The weather agency is not expecting any brewing storm to enter the Philippine area of responsibility in the next 5 days, he said.

Typhoon Rosita last week unleashed deadly landslides in Luzon and sent thousands to evacuation centers, ahead of the All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day holidays.

Four more storms may enter the country before the year ends, said Aurelio.
