MANILA - Mornings have been colder and nights have been longer after the equinox that happened last month, state weather bureau PAGASA said Friday.

Equinox, when day and night were of equal length, happened on September 23, according to PAGASA forecaster Benison Estareja.

But so far, the full effect of the chilly mornings during the holiday season is yet to be felt. The lowest temperature monitored in Baguio City, for example, was still within the normal range at around 15.1 degrees celsius.

Estareja said the cold weather would be felt around December.
