Six police officers have been relieved from their posts amid an investigation into their alleged involvement in the narcotics trade, PNP chief Director General Oscar Albayalde said Wednesday.

The 6 policemen were earlier tagged in the watch list of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, Albayalde told radio DZMM.

One of them is assigned to the Bicol region, another works for the holding and accounting unit of Camp Crame while some are under the police Drug Enforcement Group. The highest-ranked among the 6 is a senior superintendent, he said.

If enough evidence is found against the group, they will face summary hearing procedures, he added.
