A peace advocate urges the Philippine government to sit down with the Muslim community in Mindanao in order to bring stability to an area long marred by conflict.

Mohamed Elsanousi of the Network for Religious and Traditional Peacemakers says one way to stop the spread of extremist ideologies is to have space for dialogue so affected communities can air their grievances.

"We just have to commit to dialogue. War is not gonna end by increasing the fighting. War will end when we bring the communities and look into the interest of the south, for instance," he said.
