Various groups staged a protest against extrajudicial killings in front of the Caloocan City Police Friday.

Members of Anakpawis, Bayan, Kadamay, Gabriela and other groups urged authorities to stop the killings, especially of minors.

They believe the killings of minors were clearly unjustified, particularly that of Kian delos Santos, Carl Angelo Arnaiz and Reynaldo de Guzman.

They also condemned reports that a number of Caloocan police were involved in a coordinated robbery in one of the houses in the city.

The groups called on police authorities to be more humane amid fears that more innocents will be killed in the government's war on drugs.

They also fear that it is becoming a trend among Caloocan policemen to use violence as a means to achieve their goals.

Newly-appointed Caloocan City Police chief, Senior Superintendent Jemar Mondequillo, said the PNP has done everything to remove from duty the undesirables in their forces and have filed appropriate cases against them. News Now, 15 September 2017
