President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday again urged drug suspects to stop their illegal activities, stressing that not even the Church or human rights advocates can save them from death.

"Let us be clear with each other. I am for the comfort and the welfare the Filipino. Kayo namang hindi pa bungo diyan, hindi pa pumasok iyung mga droga, kung ayaw ninyong mamatay, ayaw ninyong masaktan, huwag kayong umasa sa mga pari at human rights -- hindi iyan nakakapigil ng kamatayan," Duterte said in his first State of the Nation Address (SONA).

"Tapos andyan ka nakabulagta, you are portrayed in a broadsheet na parang Mother Mary cradling the dead cadaver of Jesus Christ. Iyang mga iyang, magda-dramahan tayo dito."

According to the ABS-CBN Investigative and Research Group, 579 people have been killed in anti-drug operations from May 10 to July 25.

Of this number, 377 were killed in police operations, where policemen usually say that drug suspects were slain after attempting to fight arrest.

At least 154 were killed by unidentified gunmen and 48 were suspected victims of summary executions.
