MANILA - Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III on Tuesday said there is a possibility for women to get leaves of absence when they suffer from dysmenorrhea or menstrual cramps if they strike a collective bargaining deal with their employer.

"Magandang idea (That's a good idea). That can be the subject of a collective bargaining agreement between the employee and the employer," Bello told radio DZMM.

Earlier this year, President Rodrigo Duterte signed into law a bill that grants additional leave benefits for working mothers.
